Communication Committee
The CCS Board of Directors charged the Communications Committee at its January meeting.
The committee has posted an online survey, click here for a direct link. Please take the time to participate and provide feedback. The survey timeframe will be April 15th through May 15th.

An email account has been set up allowing you to send an email to the committee. Please use communications_comm@ccsvt.us to send input to the committee. Please note, you will not recieve a reply, however the committee will consider the input at its next meeting.
Purpose: The Charlotte Board of School Directors hereby charges a sub-committee of the board with a focus on community engagement and information sharing. The committee will:

Identify current formats, methods and types of communication.

Identify and document current communication methods of the board with various stakeholders (such as member to member, to administration, to staff, to parents, to community, to associations and to legislature).

Identify current methods for stakeholder communication to the board.

Identify the board's role and responsibility to stakeholders.

Review recommended industry practices and identify improvements and supports needed.

Recommend a communication plan to be adopted by the Board.
Duration: The committee shall meet as needed and all meetings will be noted on the school web site. A report shall be submitted to the board no later than June 30, 2009 at which point the committee will dissolve or be re-charged at the discretion of the board.
Structure and Composition: The committee shall be comprised of 9 members appointed by the board with volunteers solicited. The composition of the committee shall include:
Limitations:
There is no authority vested in the committee. The committee shall not make interim decisions nor direct employees, faculty or staff of Charlotte Central School or CSSU without the approval of the Board.

Communication Committee Criteria
The Board will consider the following criteria in selecting members of the Communications Committee:·
- Big picture thinker with the ability to work out details
- Ability to successfully work on a team
- Effective communicator
- Professional experience in marketing, public relations or communications a plus
- Ability to deal with complex systems and issues
